China Bans BBC & New York Times

Should we see an outcome in China along the lines of what we have discussed, it is easily anticipated that China will eventually attempt to isolate itself from the outside world. While banning the BBC and New York Times is not earth shattering, a tree starts as a seed. These are likely calculated moves meant to isolate people in China. Why would the communists ban access to the outside world? Either to ramp up a hypernationalist propaganda machine amongst the people of China or to start cracking down on human rights in anticipation of social volatility or both.
