50 Million Global Job Losses Before The End Of 2009?

That is what the Financial Times is reporting today. What is even more disturbing is that 200 million people could drop back into the infamous $2 or less a day working poverty class. That totals 45% of global workers. Of course, were we to add in the entire world's population it would be billions. An amazingly sad statistic. Obviously, none of this is really news as we've anticipated a global bust in emerging markets for years. But as a humanist first and an American second, what is terribly disturbing is that the constant repression of most people and ongoing corruption keeps many of the world's people under the yoke of abject poverty.
