The State Of New Hampshire Puts The Federal Government On Notice - Your Powers Are Limited By The Rule Of Law

"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent."
-- Thomas Jefferson

Will you remain silent while our Federal government bails out the tyranny of corruption?

I firmly believe in Jeffersonian state's rights as a check against hegemonic Federal government. Jefferson saw great potential for and later actions of Federal government malfeasance. Most people don't realize there are not only checks within the Federal government but that state's rights are a check against the Federal government run amok. Ironically, we discussed this very fact quite some time ago on this blog. I'm not sure this topic is in current civics coursework and we can surely conclude this suits the Federal government just fine. Malfeasance seems to be an understatement for much of what happens in Washington nowadays.

In the first such overt challenge I am aware of in modern times, the State of New Hampshire appears to be dusting off the Constitution and preparing to lay down the law to the Federal government. Literally. I suppose it is no irony that the official state motto of New Hampshire is "Live Free or Die".

That any Act by the Congress of the United States, Executive Order of the President of the United States of America or Judicial Order by the Judicatories of the United States of America which assumes a power not delegated to the government of United States of America by the Constitution for the United States of America and which serves to diminish the liberty of the any of the several States or their citizens shall constitute a nullification of the Constitution for the United States of America by the government of the United States of America................
