When Greatness Slips Away

Bob Herbert is right. Greatness has slipped away. Not the greatness of the American people. Not the greatness of a free society. Not the greatness of our Constitution. Not the greatness of our inventiveness. Not the greatness of our industriousness. Not the greatness of our compassion. But instead we have no greatness within the ruling elite who don't seem to realize that they are our servants and not our masters. This is a timeless dynamic as old as politics itself. The American people have been too trusting, too good-hearted. As predators, sociopaths are well aware of the weaknesses of most people and they prey upon those weaknesses. Kindness, compassion, trust and idealism are to be taken advantage of. When greatness slips away.

Our leaders take an oath to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law. Instead they have dismantled both for political favor and prostitution of our government. For greed, power, envy, pride, arrogance and lust. The great Jezebel whore of corporate lobbyists, oligopolies and prostitutes (more commonly known as politicians). The government must be returned to We the People.
