Is The British Pound On The Verge Of Collapse?

I watch the pound quite closely because I'm about to start a project that involves business in England. The foreign exchange market trades nonstop so speculators can trade all day every day. So, I just pulled a live chart of the pound versus the dollar. At 10:50pm eastern time in the US the pound had just broken the 2001/2002 lows versus the dollar. Not a lot other than hot air between here and the 1984 lows shown above.

I have no idea what is going to happen but given the dynamics before us, the possibility exists for a runaway downside slide here as happened into the 1984 low. Das pound ist kaput, bitte?
