President Obama Babbling About Health Care Reform

Just a quick remark as I listen to the President ramble on about health care monopolies at a rally today. The President argues this is why we need the current health care plan he is proposing. As I have said before, I support an overhaul of health care in this country. I want my government to do something about this crisis. It's an undeniable mess. But the President is painting a pretty good argument as to why we should not be passing his bill. The United States government should be employing one hundred year old anti-trust regulations to break these insurance companies up and create competition. How is the market going to work any better if I am required by law to buy private for-profit health insurance when these firms are monopolies held to no account by our President or our Congress?

The first thing the President should do is restore the rule of law and enforce existing laws. The Federal government created the monster we now see as the for-profit health insurance monopolies. And now in concert with for-profit private health insurance monopolies the federal government monopoly has an answer for us. The fix is in. But the fix isn't an answer to the health care problem. The fix is greater profits for monopolies who have paid off our government with legal bribes, aka lobbyist money, campaign contributions, jobs for retired politicians as lobbyists and executives, etc, etc, etc. A fix which will allow monopoly health insurance companies to continue to bribe our government.

Break up the monopolies. Or offer me the same insurance that sleazy politicians who work for us are able to buy but don't want us to have. Or make the politicians go out and buy the same shitty insurance I have to buy from the monsters they created - private for-profit monopolies.

Our father - President Obama, the Congress and the state - know what is best for the rest of us. So they plan to shove it down our throat. The President is not our elected king. He is supposed to govern with the American people as a public servant. And part of that is to enforce the rule of law, something he is not doing. This is the problem with elected elitists. They think they are smarter than the cumulative abilities of a self-determined society. And that mindset truly shows how foolishly ignorant they truly are.
