The Real News - End The Federal Reserve As We Know It

This is a very constructive give and take.  Paul Jay is a very informed interviewer.  He is actually leading the witness.  Something every good journalist is capable of.  Not something you would see with the mindless sycophants (useful idiots) on CNBC.  If we had a working press whose goal was to inform and educate society, we would see this type of interview in the mainstream news across a wide array of topics.   But, you can see this type of substantial journalism regularly on The Real News, one of my favorites.

This is not an interview between fringe elements in society or, frankly, goofy or even crazy  views on economics or monetary policy that are often put forth by many people seeking change.  This is a mainstream discussion with a mainstream economist about instituting mainstream change.  It’s not what I want to see but it’s a start.  A huge start.

If you listen to much of what is being discussed here, it ties directly into many of our long term theses – globalization is dead, global finance is dead, Wall Street may be peaking forever, the U.S. will lead the world recovery, the dollar is putting in a long term bottom and on and on.  (As I have said countless times, those who think the U.S. is doomed because of debt are wildly clueless.)   This discussion is far from being instituted as policy and with the incredibly corrupt corporatist Republican party ready to reassert itself in Washington, that won’t happen yet.  But the deceit and fraud perpetrated on our society by political idiots and Wall Street crooks is being replaced with a viral awareness and truth that is spreading across the nation on a multitude of serious issues in our society.

I have acquaintances, friends and family across every demographic imaginable and I can honestly say the only people who seem generally oblivious to the changing world around them are those tied to the corporate welfare state and the political class.  As we have remarked, those in the bubble are always the last to know.
