The War Machine, American Hegemony & The CIA’s Secret Sites In Somalia

First they came for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me.

The United States war machine-police state is only able to perpetuate its endless hegemonic shenanigans through what I see are essentially the use of three primary tools.  1) Trading away American economic sovereignty as a form of bribery for agreement with American political and military hegemony.  We see this type of scheme practiced in places like South Korea and Japan where our politicians have traded away our economic rights in return for support of American hegemony.  2) The use of political coercion and extortion in countries with weak leadership and systemic poverty.  This type of dynamic is accomplished in places like Mexico and Central/South America where the use of IMF and dollar enslavement (economic “development” loans) are used to entice agreement and often extort weak leadership to support American hegemony.  And 3) the outright bribery of massively corrupt police states around the globe.  This last option is where the American war state can literally run amok with state-sponsored assassinations, state-sponsored abduction or rendition, state-sponsored torture, illegal holding of persons of interest without due process and outright trampling of the Geneva Convention.   We see this in places like Somalia, Egypt, Syria and Yemen.  (It’s no coincidence all of these places are on fire as people revolt against the endless corruption of tyranny.  Tyranny the U.S. war state uses to its advantage.)

None of this would be possible without the U.S. holding the world’s reserve currency.  And as we have written for the past five years, we are due a change in how trade is settled and that could mean a move away from any reserve currency.  Ironically, we said what could develop was point-based trade agreements between nations.  And, after we wrote that, both China and Russia started announcing point-based trade agreements.  Not a bad call for an anonymous hick.  What will ultimately gain traction within trade settlement remains to be seen but as we noted at the time, countries like China should be careful what they wish for.  A change in trade dynamics will sink their economic mirage like the paper tiger it is.  (Mind you, China’s agreements with the U.S. are not part of the political and war machine hegemony as described above.  China’s trade agreement with the U.S. is strictly driven by economic corruption driven primarily by Wall Street banksters and the associated “investor class”.  The war state is at odds with the corrupt corporate economic policies that have created this agreement.  And frankly, so are legitimate security concerns of our military and our society.  And we can expect substantial unintended consequences surrounding this bribery of our government as we have written ad nauseam. )

I am always pretty far behind in what I wish to post and what gets posted.  But I wanted to do what I could to give any incremental exposure to this excellent piece of journalism from Jeremy Scahill.  Scahill is one of today’s bright young investigative journalists in my estimation and his focus is typically on the endless war state shenanigans.  Shenanigans enveloped in secrecy or what lies outside of the transparency and will of the American people.    Which, by the way, is the only way the war state can perpetuate its deceptions.

Scahill’s story is an incredibly frightening account of what happens when transparency and accountability to the people of the United States are no longer part of the checks and balances of a war machine-police state run amok.   I am completely confident the only thing, and I do mean the only thing, that is keeping these unconstitutional and illegitimate activities from taking place on our soil is the United States Constitution, whatever remaining rule of law that still exists in our country and the collective conscience of the American people.   In other words, as with any bureaucracy seeking power and control, if they could, they would.
