Vagus Nerve And Meditation Post Follow Up

For readers of the blog on this site as well as other sites where my posts are fed, I thought I would put up a very interesting comment from a reader:

“I recall from my developmental psych course that the vagus nerve was implicated in co-regulation between mother and child, i.e., mothers helped babies learn how to regulate physically and psychologically via the vagus nerve. It seems as if TM (Transcendental Meditation) recreates this relationship somehow, allowing the support of a mother without her being there, or in the case of someone who didn't have access to sensitive parenting, perhaps a corrective experience to help learn how to regulate emotionally.”
