A Little Satirical Reality For Sunday

In honor of one of my favorite historical figures, Mark Twain, let’s look at the endlessly amusing stupidity of political idiots.  It just so happens I am picking on Republicans because that’s what’s out there.  The Dummycrats will get their chance later in the year.

Romney’s 1 Percent Nation Under God. (MP3)  Mitt Romney states his focus is not the poor in this podcast.  This is an amazing faux pas that offers insight into the mind of Mitt Romney.  But, then we knew this from his career in predatory private equity.  I find Romney’s statement full of irony.  This is a man who professes to be a devout Christian.  I guess Romney conveniently skipped over the Beatitudes; the fundamental rule book for Christian behavior.

The Man Behind Gingrich’s Money.  Want to buy yourself a politician?  No place better than the good ole U.S. of A.   The Dukes of Hazzard’s Boss Hog lives – he’s Newt Gingrich.   If we are lucky, soon all elites will own a favorite politician.  Oops, let me retract that.  They already do.

Have the Super Rich Seceded from America?  It’s ridiculous to even ask such questions of our many “Marie Antoinettes” who have pillaged our country for decades while telling the rest of us to eat cake (That cake would be the “free markets” cake.  Code word for legalized looting.).   What makes this editorial  interesting is it comes from a dyed in the wool modern-day Republican; the domiciled class to treasonous elites.  (Not to be confused with Republicans like Abraham Lincoln or Teddy Roosevelt who were professed progressives.)

And, my favorite, from Alexander Cockburn.  Former Dumbest Member of Congress Scorches Romney.   Now, no one chooses their intelligence and we are all worthy of dignity, democracy and equality as sentient beings.  (Something Santorum, Romney and Gingrich seem to abhor.)  Were we all able to, I’m sure we would all rather have the intellect of Isaac Newton or William Shakespeare or Newt Gingrich.  But Rick Santorum wears his ignorance with pride; an American political tradition.  When watching him speak, I am often reminded of another of my favorite historical figures, Forrest Gump.
